StarWars: The Old Replublic: Every Star Wars: The Old Republic player knows just how important a well-rounded starship can be to someone who is just starting out. Players use their ships for transportation, combat, and as a source of refuge in the cold, inhospitable vacuum of space, and it doesn’t hurt to fly in style.
The starships of the Imperial Navy are the product of centuries of military research and development. The Empire designed its fleet to destroy the Republic as quickly and efficiently as possible. During the years of the Great War, however, the Empire refined its design strategies. Salvaging starships in Hoth’s blizzards is a deadly occupation that can reap great rewards. One of the first pirates to scope out the starship graveyard famously made millions of credits selling Republic and Imperial weaponry back to the Republic and Empire.

The ship also includes an armory, a medical bay, and a number of recreational rooms to keep your squad entertained during those lengthy space flights[/ezcol_2third_end]

A rather rare find, the D5-Mantis is a compact assault ship built with efficiency in mind. Its small size and three retractable weapons foils make it perfect for quick space battles, and is great for darting in and out of enemy fire with ease. However, its cramped interior might discourage larger squads.

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]This stylish, multi-tiered starship was constructed with the Jedi in mind, placing emphasis on comfortable travel rather than battle. Its two levels contain a medical bay, a cargo hold, and a room built specifically for silent meditation. Although it fares worse in combat situations than many other types of ships, its twin laser cannons and powerful shields can work just fine in a pinch[/ezcol_2third_end]

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]These versatile beauties are the preferred starships of Sith Lords. Their angular shape allows for great maneuverability in hectic battles, and their unique “strike foils” can be deployed in certain situations to improve speed and firing distance.[/ezcol_2third_end]

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Shaped much like a spearhead, the X-70B Phantom is the result of centuries of research. This high-tech, low-profile features a state-of-the-art navigational system and a radar-resistant casing. Perfect for players who prefer to be a little more stealthy, it is sub-par in combat.[/ezcol_2third_end]

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Don’t be fooled by its size – the XS Freighter is one of the fastest ships on the market. Its broad interior hides many secret compartments, perfect for stowing away cargo and contraband alike. Its numerous turrets can be controlled either remotely or manually from within the cockpit, and it houses a number of beds and recreational rooms to keep squads busy when things are peaceful.
